April Employee of the Month: Evan Fischer

Updated: Jun 10

Evan Fischer is a sophomore at UW-Milwaukee majoring in Healthcare Administration and minoring in business. He grew up in Austin, Minnesota, and has always had an ambition to work. With experience as the Aquatics Manager at the Austin Municipal Pool, where he supervised over 40 employees during the 2023 summer season, management comes naturally to him. Since beginning with EcoWash, he has topped the sales leaderboard throughout April, generating more than $40,000 in revenue within the first

two weeks.

Here is our brief interview with Evan about his experience so far at EcoWash:

What made you choose to work at EcoWash?

I chose to work at EcoWash for a couple of reasons. I liked the idea of having the

opportunity to “run” my own business, but also having support available when needed. Another reason was to learn the endless skills that come with this opportunity. An internship like EcoWash this young will set me up for success with any career I decide to pursue in the future. I’ve learned so many skills so far and it’s only been four weeks. Everything from marketing, to sales, to communication, to time management, and so many

more. I’m excited to see what the rest of summer has in store.

What have you enjoyed the most from your internship so far?

I’ve really enjoyed the flexibility. Being able to work from home while being a full-time student has been extremely beneficial. This allows me to attend my classes throughout the day and be able to work in between, compared to having a set schedule that I need to stick to. If something comes up, I can plan around it.

What skills have you learned from your internship so far?

It’s hard to pinpoint one, but the main one is time management. Our time is very valuable so when I’m scheduling estimates, I try to group them next to each other. You don’t want to schedule them on opposite sides of your territory because you’re just wasting your time.

What are you looking forward to the most?

Besides the experiences I’ll get, the company trips are one of the main things I’m looking forward to.
